More Chips to Casetta

The stacks are now level -- Dan Casetta may even have a slight lead -- after a second big pot in a row between Casetta and Andrew Lichtenberger. Casetta limped his button, then called Lichtenberger's raise to 120,000. Lichtenberger fired another 160,000 on a flop of {2-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {10-Clubs}, with Casetta making the call.

The turn was a seeming blank, the {3-Hearts}. Lichtenberger checked and called Casetta's bet of 220,000. Both players quickly checked the river {6-Diamonds}. Lichtenberger's pocket sevens {7-?} {7-?} were second-best to Casetta's tens, {10-?} {9-?}.

Casetta Doubles and We Go Deeper Into the Night

Both players saw a flop of {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{8-Clubs} in a limped pot. Casetta was first and he checked to Lichtenberger. The youngster fired 60,000 and Casetta called.

The turn card was the {4-Clubs} and Lichtenberger fired 130,000 after Casetta checked the action to him. Casetta then moved all in for 581,000. Lichtenberger called and the cards were on their backs.

Lichtenberger held the {K-Clubs}{7-Spades} for top pair along with a flush draw. Casetta had bottom two pair with the {8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}.

The river bricked out for Lichtenberger with the {A-Diamonds} hitting the felt and Casetta doubled up.

Chewy Shoves Casetta Off His Hand

Dan Casetta's chip count has fallen below 1.0 million again after losing a big pot to Andrew Lichtenberger. Lichtenberger opened pre-flop for 80,000, with Casetta making the call. Casetta then led into Lichtenberger on three straight streets: 110,000 on the flop, 225,000 on the turn, and 215,000 on the river.

Facing that river bet, and with the board reading {Q-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {6-Spades} {A-Diamonds}, Lichtenberger moved all in. Casetta puffed his cheeks out in a sigh, squeezed his cards once, and then folded.

Slow Down

It's hard to imagine a slow down at this stage of the tournament, but that appears to be what we're looking at. Each player is keeping pots very, very small, both before and after the flop. Most pre-flop raises are barely more than the minimum; three-betting is rare and usually results in a fold. As a result the stack sizes are not changing very much right now.

Chewy Catches a Good River

We're starting to think it's going to take a pretty big cooler of a hand to end this heads-up battle. So far we haven't had anything remotely approaching that level of hand. Most recently, Andrew Lichtenberger opened for 80,000 pre-flop and Dan Casetta called. Casetta check-called 120,000 on the {7-Spades} {2-Hearts} {5-Hearts} and then check-called another 260,000 when the turn came {K-Hearts}. At the river {Q-Hearts}, Casetta checked, and then Lichtenberger checked behind.

"Just a seven," said Casetta. It was no good. Lichtenberger turned over {Q-Spades} {9-Hearts} for a flush.

Small Ball

The first couple of pots since the break have been very small, but the players did make it to one showdown. Dan Casetta limped in from the small blind and Andrew Lichtenberger checked the big blind. Lichtenberger check-called 60,000 on a flop of {6-Hearts} {6-Spades} {9-Hearts}. Both players then checked the {Q-Diamonds} turn. Lichtenberger checked again when the river came {K-Spades}. Casetta bet 125,000. Lichtenberger called, then mucked when Casetta turned up {K-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} for two pair, kings and nines.
