That's All Folks!
Finally, after 126 hands, 77 of them heads-up, we have crowned our champion here at the Bayou Poker Challenge.
Demolition contractor Nick Ceci walks away with $382,928, a gold Circuit Championship ring, and his ticket punched to the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event.
It almost wasn't to be for Ceci, however. With just about 20 minutes remaining in Day One, defending champ Lou Esposito took a pot from Ceci, sending him spiraling down to just 1,300 chips. With the poise of a champion, Ceci grinded all the way back to be counted among the leaders by the conclusion of Day Two. And today, he proved himself against the toughest challenge, besting eight other finalists and securing the final Circuit Championship of this season.
Congratulations to Nick Ceci and the rest of the players who made it to the final table. We, along with our champion, will see you in Las Vegas for the 2008 World Series of Poker, live from the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino.
