Things Are Getting Serious

When a final table starts, typically the mood is very festive. You have a mix of players that are happy to just be at the final table, and those that are just sitting back waiting for the real play to begin. We are now at the point at the final table where things become much more serious. There is very little, if any, table talk from the players. Spectators have a hush over them. You have a little muttered chatter from the crowd, but most of it is speculation about how long of a day it will be. The serious poker playing has begun. It should make for a long and interesting ride.

Hand #44 - Timothy Miles

Nick Ceci has the button in Seat 9. Gabe Costner raises to 42,000 and Timothy Miles makes the call. The flop is {A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and both players check. The turn is the {K-Diamonds}. Miles bets 50,000 and Costner calls. The river is the {Q-Diamonds}. Miles checks, Costner checks behind.

Miles shows an ace-high straight vs. Costner's two pair, kings and queens, and wins the pot.

Our Fearless Tournament Director

Raymond Gasser
Raymond Gasser
Raymond Gasser is the Tournament Director for the circuit events, here in New Orleans. Unlike most circuit staff, Ray primarily only works here at Harrah's New Orleans. He has spent a lot of time and effort to put together a fantastic event. We have heard nothing but nice things said about this event and the staff behind it. Great performances start at the top. Thank you, Ray, for putting together such a well-run event.
