Hands #36-37

Hand #36 - Vasile Buboi has the button in seat 2, and everyone folds to Carroll in the big blind, giving him the blinds and antes.

Hand #37 - Justin Pechie has the button in seat 3, and Carroll raises from the small blind to 41,000, winning the blinds and antes.

Eric Davis Playing with Confidence

Eric Davis has his friends and family in the crowd. That's always helpful for any player who makes the final table. Ever since he doubled up against Steve Wong, he's been playing with extreme confidence. While the rest of his tablemates seem quiet and docile, Davis' confidence factor is rising higher and higher with every hand. If there's a player who has a shot at chipleader Cory Carroll, it appears that it will be Davis.

The flop comes {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}{5-Hearts}, it's checked to Pechie who bets 30,000, Davis folds, Kitsos folds, and Buboi calls.

The turn card is the {2-Spades}, and both players check. The river card is the {K-Diamonds}, Buboi bets 50,000, and Pechie calls with {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. Buboi shows {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, and they chop the pot.

The Final 5

With The Dragon slayed, the best named pro has been eliminated from the tournament. The edge goes to the chipleader Cory Carroll. With five players left in the mix, the action should pick up as players with short stacks have to make moves. Carroll is actually a well-known internet player, playing under the name UGOTPZD. He is known typing his signature arrow ( <--------- ) in the chat box after winning pots online. Shane 'shaniac' Schleger called him "the best player you've never heard of." Gavin Smith is also a big fan of Carroll's game.

A win on the WSOP Circuit will definitely get Carroll the attention that he deserves.
