Refos Doubles, Loses Some Back, Still in Great Shape

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
Raoul Refos
Raoul Refos

Dutchman Raoul Refos, a fixture on the international tournament circuit for quite some years now, just doubled through another regular on the live circuit, Jorn Walthaus. The two got their chips in the middle before the flop with Refos turning over the better hand with {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}, Walthaus had {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. The board ran out {9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Refos doubled to over the 100,000 mark.

Refos unfortunately lost some chips back not much later. On a flop of {9-Spades}{J-Hearts}{7-Spades} we saw him bet out 7,500 from the under the gun position. His opponent raised it up to 18,500 and Refos made the call. The {2-Clubs} hit the turn and both players checked. The {3-Clubs} completed the board and Refos bet out 23,000. His opponent tanked for quite some time before he called.

Refos tapped the table, indicating his opponent had made a good call. Refos showed {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, his opponent tabled {J-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and took it down.
