Marcel Vonk Eliminated

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante

Marcel Vonk, easily the second most famous Dutch poker player named Marcel, was eliminated just before the break. Those following the MyStack tab in the live reporting already knew that of course.

Vonk got eliminated in a hand where he raised holding {A-}{A-}, where he picked up no less than 5 callers.

The flop came {2-}{3-}{J-} with two hearts, and a player from Denmark bet out. Raoul Refos tanked for some time before calling, Vonk did the same and the other players folded.

The Dane made another bet on the {4-Clubs} turn and again Refos tanked, and called. Vonk over called.

The river was a blank and the Dane pushed all in for the size of the pot. Refos folded, but Vonk made the call.

His opponent indeed had the missed flush draw Vonk put him on, but he was holding {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a turned straight and beat Vonk. The Dutch bracelet winner plans on giving it another shot tomorrow on Day 1b.
