Queen-Rag no Good for Hellmuth This Time

Level 12 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Corey Kempson opened to 75,000 on the button and Samuel Chartier called from the small blind. Phil Hellmuth three-bet to 350,000 from the big blind and Kempson four-bet shoved all in. Chartier quickly folded and Hellmuth used a time bank before sticking in an additional 450,000 chips.

Phil Hellmuth: Q2All in
Corey Kempson: JJ

Hellmuth must have had some type of feeling as we have all seen this play before against Alex Foxen. However, he wasn't as fortunate this time with the J10954 runout and there was no "white magic" for the 17x bracelet winner.

Action was picked up on the turn with roughly 165,000 in the pot, and the board showing 9J67.

Johnson Juanda in the big blind bet out 80,000, before Yurii Zdanovskyi raised to put Juanda all in for his stack of roughly 650,000. After giving it some thought, Juanda made the call to put himself at risk.

Brewer Gets There the Hard Way

Level 11 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

A completed board of AJ453 was spread across the felt with Chris Brewer and Jeremy Dan heads-up in the blinds. With around 1,000,000 in the pot already, Brewer slid out a stack of chips and announced all in as the bigger stack.

Dan went into the tank for a minute with roughly 1,400,000 in front of him. After burning through a time bank, Dan elected to call and tabled A10 for top pair. However, Brewer showed 76 for a backdoor straight and jumped into the chip lead early on Day 2.
