"I'm Going to Live Forever Out of Spite"
Level 5
: Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Joao Vieira opened to 16,000 in early position and Dylan Linde called in the big blind.
Linde checked on the flop of 10♥J♣9♥ and Vieira continued for 15,000. Linde called. Both players then checked on the 9♣ turn.
Linde bet 70,000 on the 4♣ river and Vieira laid it down.
As the hand played out, last year's Mini Main Event champion Martin Raus stood for a table-side interview with Jeff Platt as he proudly held his bracelet.
When he got back to the table, Raus shocked his table mates by telling them he was over 60 and that. "I'm going to live forever out of spite."
The Canadian followed this up with some Neil Young wisdom, "I'm never slowing down. I'm going to drink forever. It's better to burn out than to fade away."
