Kim Snaps Off Newman
Level 1
: Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
On the first hand of the day, action folded to Dylan Linde who limped in from the small blind. Jonathan Newman then raised to 8,000 in the big blind and Linde folded.
"Chip leader," Newman said.
"Cash out," a tablemate told him.
The next hand, Deer Kim raised to 6,000 in the cutoff, Newman three-bet to 28,000 in the small blind, and Kim called.
The flop came J♠9♣4♣ and Newman bet 18,000. Kim called and the 10♥ fell on the turn. Newman slowed down and checked, and Kim bet 23,000.
Newman called to the A♥ river, where he led out with 130,000. Kim snap-called and Newman showed K♣10♣ for a pair of tens. Kim turned over J♦J♥ for a set to take down the first big pot of the day.
