Oya Leaves Sturm With Crumbs

Level 21 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Masashi Oya
Masashi Oya

Masashi Oya raised to 1,000,000 on the button and Leon Sturm defended the big blind.

The dealer fanned out the K92 flop and Sturm checked. Oya bet 750,000 and Sturm called.

The 5 landed on the turn, Sturm checked, and Oya bet 2,500,000. Sturm check-raised to 7,200,000 and Oya used a time extension before he called.

The 3 fell on the river and Sturm used a time extension before he bet 13,500,000, leaving about 550,000 behind. Oya used a time extension of his own and tossed in a chip for the call.

Sturm tabled K9 for top two pair, but it was no good as Masashi tabled 86 for a rivered flush.

"That was a big pot," Jason Koon observed.
