Rast Finishes Off Sakellariou

Level 6 : 200/400, 0 ante

Tolly Sakellariou limped from the cutoff and that inspired Richard Johnston to do the same from the small blind. Brian Rast checked his option from the big and three players saw a flop of {8-Spades}{q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Two checks saw the short-stacked Sakellariou bet 1,200, Johnston folded, and Rast check-raised to 5,000. Sakellariou called off his last 1,400 and the cards were turned up.

Rast: {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Sakellariou: {j-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

The {2-Clubs} turn and {10-Hearts} river resulted in both men making a flush, but of course Rast's ace-high flush was the best. With that, Sakellariou bowed out of the tournament.
