Hands #178-179: Tran Now on the Short Stack

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Michael Tran
Michael Tran

Hand #178: Alex Antonios limped the button, Michael Tran did the same from the small blind, and Steven Zhou checked his option to make it a family pot to the {8-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{q-Spades} flop, which they all checked. When the {9-Spades} appeared on the turn, Tran checked, Zhou bet 11,000, and Antonios folded. Tran called and then both players returned to checking on the {5-Clubs} river. Tran showed the {q-Clubs}{k-Spades} and Zhou mucked.

Hand #179: Tran raised to 21,000 from the button and then called when Zhou, who seems to be the only player willing to reraise, three-bet to 45,000 from the small blind. Both players checked the {5-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, and then Zhou bet 33,000 on the {9-Spades} turn. Tran raised to 83,000, Zhou called, and the {6-Hearts} completed the board on the river.

Zhou announced that he was all in, and Tran, who had 280,000 or so back, thought for about 40 seconds before giving it up.
