Putt Finally Succumbs

Level 6 : 150/300, 25 ante

New Zealand poker legend Graeme Putt had been nursing a short stack for much of the evening, and he finally committed his last 2,650 preflop against Casey Kastle.

"You're ahead," Putt admitted even before the cards were turned up. Sure enough, Kastle was.

Putt: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Kastle: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Putt had a kicker problem, and the {k-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop did little to resolve it. The {7-Clubs} turn offered some chop options, but it didn't come to pass as the {8-Hearts} blanked on the river.
