Chevalier Crippled Before End of Play

Level 8 : 300/600, 0 ante

The action started with Ami Barer opening to 1,800 from under the gun. Van Marcus made the call from the button before Daniel Chevalier raised it up to 7,700 from the big blind. Barer made the quick call forcing Marcus out of the hand.

The flop came down {8-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Chevalier moved all in for his last 6,300 in chips. Barer had exactly 5,000 behind and went into the tank for a minute. He eventually made the call and both players tabled their cards.

Barer: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Chevalier: {A-Clubs}{a-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Spades}

Barer needed a queen to take the lead in the hand and got exactly that as the {q-Clubs} fell on the turn. Chevalier could only look on in disbelief as the {j-Diamonds} completed the board.

Chevalier was able to double up the very next hand to move up to 3,200 to stay alive with two hands remaining in the night.
