Roger Lamia Wins Last Hand, Bags Chip Lead in Event #18: PPC World Cup of Cards Day 1
On the final hand of the night of the PPC World Cup of Cards, Roger Lamia got all in against David Sorgente. He flopped an ace against the queens of Sorgente and broke 400,000 chips to claim the overall chip lead. He spent most of the day as the chip leader, but after doubling up a couple players seemed to fall back a little. However, by the time it was time to bag, he had solidified his number one stack of 427,000.
Jean-Manuel Estrala (307,000) and Alex Fiorani (304,000) are the only other players above 300,000 and round out the top three stacks. William Blais (157,000) and Jason Conforti (102,000) as two players who are at the top of the WCC tournament leaderboard and they are both coming back tomorrow as well.
The field started with 137 players and 37 will return tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. The PPC World Cup of Cards is Event #18.
