Double Bounty All The Way, Manfred Gunther Knocks Out Two

Marco Simonetti opened with an all-in shove to 3,500 and one player called before another player thought for a moment before throwing in his bounty chip, going all in for 9,200.

"How much is it?" Manfred Gunther said, "one of these?"

Gunther held up his bounty chip and tossed it into the middle. The player who called the original shove folded and Gunther was heads up against two players. He was ahead with {10-}{10-} against the [kxjjx] of Simonetti and the {2-}{2-} of his other opponent.

The board ran out {q-}{9-}{8-}{k-}{10-} and gave Gunther a straight and two $100 knockouts. He is also one of the bigger stacks in the fielld with 164 left.

Manfred Gunther Doubles Up With a Set

After a raise and a three-bet preflop, Manfred Gunther called 1,700 from the big blind. The flop came {a-Clubs}{7-Spades}{j-Spades}. Gunther checked and the preflop raiser led for 3,000. Gunther called.

The turn put a third spade one the board, the {5-Spades} . Gunther checked and the preflop raiser shoved all in, putting Gunther at risk. He thought for a moment, then called and showed a set of sevens, {7-}{7-}. He was ahead of the {a-}{k-} of his opponent.

The river was the {9-Hearts} and Gunther sealed the double up.

Event #23: No-Limit Hold em 50/50 6-Max Starts at 1 p.m.

Playground Poker Club's World Cup of Cards is entering its final week. Today at 1 p.m. is another 50/50 bounty tournament. Half of the buy-in goes to the prize pool and the other half to a $100 bounty. Each player will earn $100 for each bounty they get.

This is just one of the many bounty tournaments on the WCC schedule and the 6-max tournament was one of the bigger fields earlier in the series. So combining the formats is sure to draw a good-sized field.

The levels are 20 minutes long and each player starts with 20,000 chips. Registration for this event is open until the start of level five.

This is event #23 of the World Cup of Cards, a month-long poker festival hosted by Playground Poker Club. PokerNews will be here throughout the festival, bringing you all the news, updates, and photos. Follow @pokernews on Twitter for live updates, Periscope broadcasts, and more.
