Marc-Olivier Carpentier-Perrault On Top as 22 Players Make Day 3 of the Quantum No-Limit Hold em Tournament
Day 2 of the Quantum No-Limit Hold em tournament is in the books and Marc-Olivier Carpentier-Perrault leads the way with 2,135,000. He joined 21 other players who are guaranteed at least $1,750 as they come back tomorrow. First prize is $50,000 and will be the second largest first place prize awarded during the World Cup of Cards.
Carpentier-Perrault was rocking a big stack already, but some interesting hands played out to end the night and he parlayed a late bust into the big stack with 22 remaining. He opened a pot and Samuel Chartier (280,000) shoved all in. Chartier was the shorter stack, but the all in would have taken a good chunk out of Carpentier-Perrault's stack. He ended up folding and giving the pot to Chartier. Shortly after that, he three-bet Pascale Monarque and Monarque shoved with ace-ten. Carpentier-Perrault called with pocket jacks. He stayed ahead and sent Monarque home early.
Noeung Troeung (1,865,000), Albert N (1,390,000), Douglas James (1,345,000), David Cadoche (1,230,000), and Reid Fortin (1,170,000) all finished with over 1,000,000. Ramsey Belmaaza, who was the Day 1b chip leader and shot to a big stack earlier in the day, found himself short when the three-table redraw happened. But thanks to some good run outs and his new favorite dealer Belmaaza bagged 880,000.
Ben Manache was the unfortunate bubble when he got all in ahead against Mathieu Leclerc (965,000) and Leclerc flopped better. Senthuran Vijayaratnam (395,000) was very close to being the bubble when he called a bet from Belmaaza that left him with just about 20,000. He would quadruple up the next hand and he is still in moving forward to Day 3.
This was Event #1 on the WCC schedule and Day 3 will start tomorrow at 7 p.m. The Quantum kicked off the WCC back on August 17th and it will close the WCC along with one last Bounty No-Limit Hold em.
