Francois Goulet Wins World Cup of Cards 6-Max for $7,050
The ninth event of the World Cup of Cards featured a $330 NL Hold'em 6-Max tournament, boasting a guarantee of $30,000. As expected, the event attracted a strong field of 181 entries crushing the guarantee and boosting the prize pool to $52,671.
Among the leaders for the majority of the day, Francois Goulet entered six-handed play as one of the short stacks. When Michael Korovine busted in seventh place, the final six decided to look at the numbers, pausing the clock to discuss a deal. The short-stacked Goulet negotiated a bit of extra prize money and the remaining players agreed to the terms. Here is how the deal shaped up in order of position.

As an event rule, the tournament must be played out to an eventual champion. The deal must also leave 2% for the winner, leaving the final six $1,050 to play for.
On the final hand, Goulet had Levy all-in and at risk preflop holding against the of Levy. The board ran out and Levy was eliminated in second place.
Goulet took over the chip lead in a back-to-back confrontation with sixth-place finisher Joey 'birdman' Boczek. A hand after Boczek doubled up Goulet, failing to improve with against Goulet's , the tables had turned and Boczek was the one at risk against Goulet. Boczek was all-in preflop holding but again found himself behind, with Goulet tabling . The board ran out and Boczek was eliminated, giving Goulet the chip lead.
A few to cash but fall short of the final table included Samuel Roussy (8th - $1,600), Philippe Belley (10th - $1,000), RDS poker analyst and Playground celebrity Laurence 'Ladyluckpoker' Grondin (14th $750), and John Toth (19th - $600).
One of the more popular events to take place during festivals at Playground Poker Club, six-max always brings out the best fields. Some players to pass through were Ami Alibay, Kathy Sawers, Isabelle Tremblay, Michael Malm, Jonathan Bussieres, and Jean-Philippe Piquette.
