After Spending Most of the Day On Top, Chaput is the Short Stack

Level 32 : 750,000/150,000, 25,000 ante

In two hands, Samuel Chaput lost a big chunk of his formerly chip-leading stack.

The first, he bet 350,000 on the flop and Charles La Boissonniere three-bet to 1,250,000. Chaput folded.

Later, in a family pot. Three players limped before La Boissonniere checked his option.

The flop was {a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Coulombe led for 375,000. Chaput was the lone caller. The turn was the {6-Hearts} and Coulombe checked. Chaput bet 500,000 and Coulombe quickly called.

The river was the {a-Diamonds} and both players checked. Chaput certainly didn't like the river, which gave Coulombe aces full of sevens against the sevens full of aces of Chaput. Coulombe had flopped two pair with aces up and rivered a full house, holding {a-}{7-}, and Chaput had flopped trip sevens and rivered sevens full of aces, holding {6-Clubs}{7-Hearts}.
