The Rich Get Richer

Level 27 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Action folded around to Jeremy Liu in the small blind and he completed. Spencer Champlin then raised his option to 280,000 and Liu put out a call.

The flop came {2-Spades}{q-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and Liu checked. Champlin made a continuation-bet of 175,000 and Liu thought for a few moments before folding.

Champlin flashed {q-Hearts}{q-Spades} to Liu for a full house, resulting in Liu laughing as he said how happy he was he didn't pick up any sort of backdoor equity or anything else. Champlin is now closing in on 40 percent of the chips in play with 7 players left in the field.

Level 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Kris Burchfield raised to 160,000 from middle position, and Jeremy Liu called in the cutoff.

Burchfield bet 250,000 on the {4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, and Liu called.

The {9-Clubs} turn was checked by Burchfield, and Liu bet 380,000.

"Gave me a twenty-k discount," Burchfield said. He thought for a few moments, then let his hand go.

Vo Gets a Double

Level 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Eluterio Rodriguez saw action folded to him in the cutoff and raised to 200,000. The next two players folded over to Viet Vo, who was in the big blind.

"ALL IN" he immediately said in a very audible tone. Rodriguez threw out chips to call off Vo's last few big blinds and Vo just as quickly tabled his hand.

Viet Vo: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Eluterio Rodriguez: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

The table laughed at the sequence of events and how Vo woke up with aces in his big blind.

"And he has ace-king, too!" added Vo, not expecting to see himself deliver such a cooler.

"It's okay. Straight!" said Rodriguez, hoping to score the knockout.

The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{8-Spades}{9-Spades} with a few players at the table still laughing at how the entire hand had transpired.

"When I say all in like that, you know I have a STRONG hand!" Vo said, adding to the laughter as the dealer began to pitch the cards and the next hand got underway.

Jim Harris Eliminated in 8th Place ($35,273)

Level 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Jim Harris
Jim Harris

Jim Harris limped in from the small blind, then called off his last 505,000 after James Jewell moved all in from the big blind.

Jim Harris: {j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
James Jewell: {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}

Harris stood up before the {k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop fell, which added counterfeit outs to his overcards. The {6-Hearts} turn and {2-Hearts} river bricked off, however, and Harris hit the rail.

Big Stacks Trading Blows

Level 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Hand 1

Spencer Champlin opened to 180,000 from under the gun and received a call by Eric Bunch, who was in the cutoff. All remaining players folded and the flop came {9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. Champlin made a continuation-bet of 220,000 and Bunch called.

The turn was {2-Clubs} and both players checked. The river fell {5-Hearts} and Champlin checked to Bunch, who announced a bet of 700,000. Champlin thought for a few moments and folded.

Hand 2

On the following hand, Bunch opened to 225,000 from the hijack and Champlin defended from the big blind. The flop came {7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{a-Hearts} and Champlin check-called a continuation-bet of 300,000 from Bunch. The two then checked through the turn {a-Spades} and river {3-Diamonds} to take the hand to showdown.

Champlin turned over {9-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for a pair of deuces and Bunch mucked, unable to top it as the pot was sent Champlin's way.

Katherine Offutt Eliminated in 9th Place ($29,982)

Level 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Katherine Offutt
Katherine Offutt

Spencer Champlin raised to 160,000 from under the gun and Katherine Offutt three-bet him out of early position to 350,000. Action folded back to Champlin and he called.

The flop came {8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{a-Hearts} and Champlin checked. Moments later, the dealer had announced an all-in bet from Offutt.

"Did you say all in?" asked Champlin after a few seconds. The dealer confirmed. Champlin threw in a few chips to call after a few seconds of thinking and the dealer announced a call.

Katherine Offutt: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Spencer Champlin: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Offutt had gotten her stack in as a dominating favorite for what would be around a 5 million-chip pot. However, the turn came {q-Hearts} to give Champlin aces up, leaving Offutt now drawing slim for her tournament life. The river {q-Spades} filled Champlin up to a full house, topping Offutt's two pair and ending her day early in gut-wrenching fashion.

Offutt returned shortly after collecting her winnings to graciously shake hands with everyone at the table, wishing them luck before making her exit.

Rodriguez Draws First Blood

Level 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

James Jewell saw action folded to him in the cutoff and opened to 200,000. Eluterio Rodriguez was on the button and called. The two went heads up to a flop of {2-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{a-Hearts} and Jewell made a continuation-bet of 200,000. Rodriguez called.

The turn was {3-Spades} and Jewell continued for another 300,000. Rodriguez called and the river came {7-Spades}. Jewell fired a third barrel for 500,000, sliding out a stack of T25,000 chips. Rodriguez thought about his decision for about 40 seconds and called.

"Ace," said Jewell.

Rodriguez tabled {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for top pair, top kicker and Jewell nodded, showing the ace to the half of the table that was to his right as he dropped his cards from the one-seat onto the muck pile.
