Charles Bass Hits a Great River For Huge Pot

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

John Richards opened to 8,000 preflop and Charles Bass called in position before Gary Widener raised to 16,500. Both Richards and Bass called.

The flop came jack-high, {j-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}, and Widener checked. Richards bet 19,000 and both Bass and Widener called again.

The turn paired the board with the {5-Spades} and Widener checked. Richards continued to bet, making it 35,000 to go. Bass counted out calling chips and eyed his remaining stack. He then went all in and Widener quickly folded.

Richards took a moment but eventually called and showed {q-}{j-} for two pair. Bass showed {a-Clubs}{k-Spades} and hit an ace on the river to win the huge pot.
