Records are set to be broken. With 824 entrants, Day 1b of the 2024 Winamax Sismix Main Event was no exception, becoming the biggest flight in Sismix history. Compared to last year's 615 entries on Day 1b, attendance increased by 25%, bringing the 2024 total to 1,373 entries after two flights. And two more flights are still coming tomorrow...

Out of these 824 runners, 136 players reached the end of the day and qualified for Day 2. Some of them feel at home here at the Casino de Marrakech in the beautiful Es Saadi Resort, and this is the case for Anas Tadini. So it isn't a surprise to find his name on top of the chip counts, being the only player over one million chips (1,042,000).

Second in chips is Matthieu Lamagnere (997,000), who is well-acquainted with Winamax tournaments, having won the 2017 Sismix High Roller and finished second and third in Winamax Poker Open Main Events.

Among the big stacks are Jorden Verbraeken (928,000), Tahar Said (720,000), 2023 Winamax Poker Tour champion Sebastien Lesoif (552,000), and Mathias Moutaoukil (548,000), who burst the bubble today. They are followed by 2023 King 5 winner Tom Dupuy (453,000), Kalidou Sow (400,000), and Hugues Girard (355,000), who was the 2024 Winamax Poker Tour runner-up earlier in the year.

Closer to the average stack, Sebastien Le Baron bagged 300,000 chips, as did Yassine "Brelanciaga" El Ouahdani (299,000). French poker journalist Florence Mazet, who used to work for PokerNews, spent the whole day at the feature table. She even had the chance to eliminate Gus Hansen in his first-ever Winamax event as an ambassador. However, after reaching 600,000 during the day, her stack decreased during the last levels, and she finished the day with 255,000.

Finally, 2024 Spanish Winamax Poker Tour Enis Chetita also qualified for Day 2 (247,000), and the same goes for Sonny Franco (201,000) and Rachid El Yaacoubi (152,000).

The 5,500 MAD Sismix Main Event continues with Day 1c at noon local time. Like on Day 1a and 1b, players will receive a 50,000-chip starting stack and play 30-minute levels in a flight that is expected to be even bigger than today's. There will also be a last chance to qualify for Day 2 at 7 p.m. with Day 1d Turbo and its 15-minute levels.

If the tournament room was full today, the swimming pool was full as well because of the daily pool party and the Winamax Beer Pong Open. And it will continue this way tomorrow, with another pool party at 2 p.m., crazy games with Philippe Maurice's team from 7 to 9 p.m., and the traditional Moroccan night at 8 p.m.
