Lamagnere Leads Winamax Poker Open High Roller; Silver Bubbles Late on Day 1
From the 194 players who entered the €1,000 Winamax Poker Open High Roller, just 29 players remain, all in the money after almost 20 levels on Day 1.
With just nine minutes remaining in the last level of the day, Max Silver bricked his flush draw after running into the trips of Mike Alonso, and he was eliminated, guaranteeing the remaining players a min-cash of €1,460.
The chip leader Matthieu Lamagnere (1,216,000) finished third in last year's Main Event for €59,300. The Frenchman also has previous in the Winamax Poker Open High Roller, finishing tenth in 2016 for €2,500.
Close behind him is Belgian Maxim Buyl (1,192,000) and fellow Frenchman Mike Alonso (1,183,000). Alonso is one of seven players who made it through to Day 2 after playing in one of the Day 0 flights to this High Roller, and he is joined by Day 0 chip leader Philippe Guillou (820,000) and Winamax Team Pro Adrien Delmas (880,000).
Delmas sits tenth in the chip counts, slightly behind fellow Team Pro Aladin Reskallah (1,040,000), who sent Leo Margets to the rail late on Day 1 to become one of the first players above a million in chips.
The duo are joined by Ivan Deyra (138,000) who will be the shortest stack coming into Day 2, but already guaranteed a payout. Here are the remaining payouts now that the High Roller players are all in the money.

Day 1 Recap
A big field was always expected for the 2019 edition of the Winamax Poker Open High Roller. Defending champion Peter Jaksland was joined by Irish regulars Patrick Clarke, Marc Macdonnell, Jason Tompkins and Dara O'Kearney but none of them would make the money.
The first major chip leader looked like being Martin Ilavsky who moved up to 500,000 and then beyond just before the dinner break. Bassel Zebib joined him at that mark before Sven McDermott, who finished fifth in the 2016 WPO Main Event eclipsed the 700,000 mark.
Several Winamax Team Pros joined the field, but were unsuccessful in their attempts to make it through to Day 2. Davidi Kitai and Pierre Calamusa were both unsuccessful, with Adrian Mateos, Romain Lewis and Adrien Delmas enjoying a spell at the same table, with only Delmas making the money.
In the blink of an eye, the chip leaders were at a million, with Reskallah among the first after the elimination of Margets. By the end of the day, seven players would bag seven-figure stacks, and all would be looking ever upwards towards the final table and the first prize of €40,640.
