Final 16 Play to a Winner in Day 3 of 2023 Unibet DeepStack Open Marrakech
After four starting flights and an action-packed 11-hour Day 2, the 752-person field in the 2023 Unibet DeepStack Open Marrakech has been reduced to the final 16 players. All remaining players are guaranteed at least MAD 37,000 (€3,400) but everyone will have their sights set on the lion's share of the MAD 3,835,200 (€355,000) prize pool and the top prize of MAD 625,000 (€58,000).
Alexandre Le Vaillant leads the final 16 players with 5,495,000 in chips. Le Vaillant is no stranger to running deep in these events, having over $500,000 in career tournament earnings and no less than 17 five-figure cashes since 2015. He is closely followed by Kaddour who bagged 5,200,000 while their next closest competitor sitting third in chips is Samuel Baruk, who eliminated Day 1c Chip Leader Nafis Dundar in the last hand of the night on Day 2 to finish with 2,955,000.

Guillaume Darcourt also found a bag at the end of Day 2, finishing with 1,630,000. With over $1,500,000 in career tournament earnings that include a plethora of five-figure and six-figure cashes, Darcourt is by far the most experienced player left in the field and will be a player to watch going into the final day.
Jeremie Canetti, who bagged the second-biggest stack of all the Day 1 flights, also remains in contention going into Day 3. Canetti has roughly $18,000 in career tournament earnings with his best score coming from a 6th place finish at the UDSO Paris 2023 Main Event for €13,800, which will be topped should Canetti finish in fifth place or better in today's event.
Tristan Forge will be another player to watch going into the final day. The French player has over $300,000 in career tournament earnings that include a runner up finish at the Marrakech Poker Open in 2016 for MAD 166,500 (€15,400) and fourth-place finish at a World Series of Poker Circuit High Roller Event in 2022 for a career-best score of €23,090, which will require a third place finish or better to surpass in today's main event.
Cards will be back in the air at 2.00 p.m. local time, with 20 minutes left to go on Level 24, blinds at 25,000/50,000 and a 50,000 big blind ante. The event will be streamed with a 30-minute delay.
