Piironen Gets Value with Ace-King

Level 21 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

This time, it was Henri Piironen who got an {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} and he raised to 55,000 from middle position. Julien Stropoli defended his small blind with {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}.

The {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop gave Piironen top pair and he bet 60,000. Stropoli check-called with his pocket nines.

On the {8-Diamonds} turn, Stropoli picked up a straight draw to go with his nines and he checked. The wet board prompted a second bet from Piironen worth 165,000. Stropoli stared at the board and his opponent before sliding in another call.

The {7-Clubs} on the river gave Piironen the checkmark and Stropoli checked a third time. Piironen reached for chips, then decided against it and checked behind to win the hand.

Stropoli Over Jacobsen

Level 21 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Julien Stropoli raised to 54,000 from under the gun with {Q-Spades}{10-Spades} and Daniel Jacobsen called with {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} in the next position. Stropoli flopped top pair on {Q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and bet 60,000, which Jacobsen called.

The {9-Spades} turn and {2-Hearts} river got checked by both players and Stropoli tabled the winner.

Jacobsen Deals Another Blow to Brand

Level 21 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Daniel Jacobsen
Daniel Jacobsen

[Removed:155] picked up {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts} in the cutoff and raised to 55,000. Morra got {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} dealt on the button and called.

Daniel Jacobsen also got {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} dealt and went all in for 527,000 from the big blind. Brand shoved all in as well and Morra folded.

With one queen gone, Jacobsen needed one of the remaining ones if he was to survive. The {6-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop provided some chop outs for the Dane, but the {Q-Clubs} on the turn was even better for him to make Brand the one drawing slim.

The river was the {4-Hearts} and the start-of-the-day chipleader got dealt another big blow.
