Simpson Starts Strong
Unibet Ambassador Ian Simpson is off to a nice start and has grown his stack up to 43,000 in chips.
Most of Simpson's chips came during the opening blind level. The action checked around to a player in the small blind who opted to limp before he called a bet of 300 from Simpson from the big blind.
Simpson continued for 200 after his opponent checked the flop. His opponent raised to 1,200 and Simpson called.
A paired the board on the turn and Simpson called a bet of 2,000 from his opponent. Simpson's opponent led out for 3,000 after the completed the board on the river. Simpson raised to 10,500 and got a call.
The Unibet ambassador turned over for trips and collected a big early pot after his opponent tossed his hand into the muck.
Things aren't going as peachy for fellow Unibet Poker Ambassadors Espen Uhlen Jorstad with 23,000 in chips and Dara O'Kearney with 28,500.
Meanwhile, Jorstad's roommate Rauno Kiviloo joined the field after winning a ticket in a satellite held earlier today.
The first blind level also witnessed the first two eliminations in Dan Chisu and Marius Pertea, who we earlier reported was low on chips after losing with a top set of aces. Chisu is already back in the field, while Pertea at least for now is on the rail.
