One of the great things about the UKIPT Isle of Man is that staff from the Rational Group, parent company of PokerStars, get the chance to play against some of the big stars of poker and they don’t come much bigger than Team Online Pro Ike Haxton.

Martin Stuart is one of those staff members playing today and he must have wondered if it was a joy or a curse when he found himself facing off against Haxton in a pot. There was a decent chunk of change in the middle already and the board read {q-Spades}{5-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. Stuart led out for 7,400 from the big blind and after a short think Haxton pushed out his big chips, enough to cover Stuart’s remaining stack.

Stuart looked unsure what to do. A look over his shoulder at the tournament clock seemed to make up his mind and with a shrug he made the call. Haxton turned over {j-Spades}{10-Spades} and when he saw the {a-Spades}{6-Spades} of Sturat he said, “I’m in bad shape against that one.” The {7-Hearts} on the river doubled up Stuart and put a severe dent in Haxton’s chance of progression.

Haxton busted soon after.
