Like Son Like Father
If you heard the surname Romanello, you'd no doubt think of European Poker Tour and World Poker Tour champion Roberto Romanello. He's one of the UK's most popular players, but he's not the Romanello of focus in today's tournament. That honor belongs to his father, Frank Romanello.
While both Romanello's player the Main Event, Roberto busted fairly early. On the flip side, his father is making a deep run, though he did just lose a massive pot that saw his stack of 250,000 or so get cut down to 60,000.
Roberto, who is watching his father from the rail, explained that his dad started playing for fun in the last few years, due in no small part to his son's success. Roberto, who has a brother that is fond of the game, decided to bring his dad to Galway and put him in the event.
It's getting close to the money, so that decision could very well prove fruitful. In the meantime, Frank made his way over to his son and immediately began talking strategy. When it comes to the game of poker, the Romanellos are nothing but focused.
