WSOP Main Event Fifth-Place Finishers in Action
We've got a pair of players in the field that many of you might recognize from past World Series of Poker broadcast on ESPN — Andy Black and Jon Kalmar, both of who finished in fifth place at their respective Main Event final tables.
Black is best known for his appearance at 2005 WSOP Main Event final table. He is memorable as being the chip leader, Irish Buddhist monk and the man who shed a tear after busting in fifth place for $1.75 million. Here's a video snippet from the 2005 WSOP Main Event final table as seen on ESPN:
Two years after Black appeared at the final table, England's Jon Kalmar had his shot. The lover of old-school punk bands had the same fate as Black, finishing in fifth place for $1,255,069. Here's a look at Kalmar's post-elimination interview with PokerNews:
