Gold Turns Up the Heat

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Alan Gold isn't afraid to use his big stack to his advantage. In a recent hand, he opened for 160,000 from under the gun only to have Daragh Davey three-bet to 360,000 from the button. The blinds folded and Gold took stock of his opponent's stack before announcing that he was all in. Davey folded.

In the next hand, Paul Febers opened for 235,000 from the small blind and Gold pushed back to around 460,000. Febers announced that he was making it 850,000, which prompted a little smile from Gold, who ended up folding.

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Damian Porebski
Damian Porebski

Damian Porebski bet 185,000 from first position and faced a raise from Alan Gold on the button to 425,000. The Blinds folded and when it got back to Porebski he re-raised all-in only to be quickly called by chip leader Gold.

Porebski had {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades} against Gold’s {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. The board ran out {9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}. to send the Polish Full Tilt qualifier home in fifth. He left to a warm round of applause having lasted over 3 days of fantastic poker.

Gold now has over 7.5m chips.

A Five-Bet Isn't Enough

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Paul Febers opened to 120,000 from the button and Alan Gold again came in with a three-bet, thistime to 290,000. Undeterred, Febers responded by four-betting to 585,000 but Gold announced, "970,000," with a sizeable five-bet.

Febers thought for 30 seconds before moving all in. Gold instantly folded.

Febers with a Five-Bet

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Action folded to Dimitri Pembroke on the button and he raised to 130,000. The small blind folded and then Paul Febers three-bet to 285,000 from the big. Pembroke thought for a few moments before popping it to 575,000, but little good it did him as Febers pushed back with a five-bet to one million. Pembroke thought for a bit then slowly and silently slid his cards to the dealer.

Porebski Five-Bet Shoves on Davey

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

There are three Full Tilt qualifiers left in the final five and two of them just went to war.

Daragh Davey in the Cut-off raised to 120,000. Damian Porebski in the small blind raised him back to 240,000. Paul Febers folded his big blind and it was back on Davey who took his time before four-betting to 480,000. Porebski announced “All-in.” and as the dealer threw him the triangle Davey released his cards.

Porebski Doubles Through Pembroke

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Alan Gold raised to 120,000 preflop and was called by both Daragh Davey on the button and Dimitri Pembroke in the small blind. Damian Porebski then moved all in for 735,000 and Gold quickly folded. Davey asked for a count, then tanked for several minutes before finally deciding to fold.

In the same amount of time, Pembroke had clearly decided to make a decision and as soon as Davey folded, he made the call. Davey said he had sixes and would've called if there hadn't been someone behind him.

Porebski: {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Pembroke: {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}

The board came {A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{A-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Porebski doubled up to a much more comfortable 1.9 million.
