Kevin Killeen

A trio of mystery bounty main events brought the 2024 PokerStars SCOOP Afterparty to a conclusion, and Ireland's Kevin "torino2000" Killeen captured the largest of their prizes. Killeen won the $1,050 edition for $63,508, which included $24,584 worth of mystery bounties.

Many people reading this article will have had a bell ring after seeing Killeen's name. That is because the Irishman has more than $3 million in online poker tournament cashes and another $1 million from the live arena. These impressive numbers were helped by Killeen winning the UKIPT Dublin Main Event in 2014, finishing third in the 2014 EPT London Main Event, and being the runner-up in the 2015 Irish Open Main Event.

The $1,050 SCOOP Afterparty Main Event drew in 514 entrants, who created a guarantee-busting $514,000 prize pool.

All but two of the nine players at the final table took home at least $14,000 for their efforts. Ninth-place finisher "Nosnibourbos" secured a $14,470 payout thanks to pulling $11,589 from various mystery bounty envelopes before they bowed out.

The duo who finished in eighth and seventh place, "Sasuke234" and "DrawindDead," were the non-five-figure recipients. They walked away with $7,993 and $7,611, respectively.

The elimination of Austria's "tekelson221" ($14,548) left only five players in the hunt for the title. Those five were reduced to four when "stuupid5," also of Austria ($14,454), saw their participation end prematurely.

Belarusian "DoryanGh" came unstuck in fourth ($29,708) before "Havana85" of the United Kingdom fell in third ($21,715), sending the high-stakes Main Event into the heads-up stage.

Here, Killeen and Rodrigo "SELOUAN1991" Selouan fought it out in a one-on-one battle for the title of champion. Selouan fell at the final hurdle, and had to make do with a $36,369 consolation prize, leaving Killeen to capture the title and a haul worth $63,508.

"XaTuKo667" Turns $11 into $10,832

The smallest of the SCOOP Afterparty Main Events was the $11 buy-in low edition. It's unfair to call it small because 20,396 players bought in and created a $199,880 prize pool. Seven of the nine finalists logged off having turned their $11 investment into at least $1,596, with the champion helping themselves to a five-figure haul.

"XaTuKo667" of Kazahkstan is that champion. They defeated "budascdo" of Brazil in the heads-up battle, and emerged victoriously with $10,832 to show for their win. The Brazilian second-place finisher headed into the night with a $7,409 addition to their bankroll.
