UKIPT London Main Event Plays Down to Winner Today, Daniel Bedson Leads

It's time for the Final Day of the PokerStars UKIPT London Main Event, running at the Hippodrome Casino. There are now just eight players remaining in contention for the title and the tournament will play down to a winner today.

The Main Event attracted a total of 374 entries, which made for a prize pool of £359,040. 56 players returned for The next payout is worth £9,220 and the outright winner is set to walk away with £71,650.

Daniel Bedson of the UK leads with 2,485,000 chips. Bedson has $151,042 in recorded live tournament winnings, most of which came from a first place finish in the GKUPT London Grand Final last year for £105,000. Bedson sees poker as a hobby and usually focuses on PLO cash games, yet he's now once again positioned for a huge tournament score.

Stephen Cherry currently sits in second place with 2,295,000 chips. Encouraged by poker pro friends in his hometown of Newcastle, such as Marc Foggin, Curry has made the money in four of his last five tournaments and now has a shot at a top place finish.

Oscar Kirby-Hogarty ended the day in third place with 2,250,000 chips and is the only other player to finish with over two million. He usually plays online and is looking for his first serious live result on Day 3 of the UKIPT London Main Event.
