Day 2 of the PokerStars UKIPT Edinburgh Main Event, held at the Genting Casino Fountain Park, has now reached its conclusion.
A total of 220 entries were made to the event across three starting flights, making for a prize pool of £211,200. Of those, 33 players returned for Day 2 already in the money.
Following a long and drawn out bubble last night, play moved fast at the start of Day 2, the field quickly reduced to the final table. There are now just six players remaining in contention. The next to bust will receive £9,100 in prize money. First place is set to walk away with £44,200.
At the end of Day 2, Scottish player Daniel Gormley is way out ahead with 2,780,000. Having turned professional during Covid, and having briefly worked as a dealer in this very casino, Daniel will be going into the UKIPT Edinburgh final with a massive 2:1 chip lead over his nearest rival.
PokerStars Team Online pro Benjamin Spragg is in second place with 1,380,000 chips. He's in the running for his second UKIPT title of the season following his victory in Brighton.
