David Ledden in Pole Position as a New PokerStars UKIPT Nottingham Champion Will be Crowned
The PokerStars UKIPT Nottingham Main Event champion will be crowned today. The £1,100 buy-in has reached its final day and the final table as only nine remain out of the 582 entries.
Each player has already locked up at least £10,250 in prize money out of the £582,000 prizepool. However the remaining nine will all be looking at the grand prize of £106,270 as well as the coveted PokerStars UKIPT Nottingham Main Event trophy. A new champion will be crowned for the first time since Sam Mitten-Laurence won £182,000 back in 2015.
David Ledden goes into Day 3 in pole position as he bagged 4,015,000 chips. Ledden accumulated much of those chips on the final table bubble as hand for hand play continued for over an hour before Jack Hardcastle was eliminated in 10th place (£8,540). Adam Maxwell also bagged big (3,495,000) and was chip leader for much of Day 2. The final table bubble led to the big stacks dominating which leaves Alex Montogomery (1,040,000), Michael Howard (900,000), Philip Clarke (740,000) and Tom Simm (510,000) all with less than 20 big blinds at the start of Day 3.
