Smith Wins a Big One; Three Re-Entries

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

We missed the action, arriving at the table to see the dealer cutting down Dan Smith's and a tablemate's stacks. The board read {9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and Smith had {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts} laying in front of him. Laying in front of Smith's opponent was {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} and Justin Bonomo's former seat was empty as Bonomo headed for the registration desk.

Smith raked in the pot worth more than a double up.

Across the room, Bonomo, Steve O'Dwyer, and Alexey Rybin could be seen re-entering.

Sass Triples Up

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Phil Gruissem opened to 3,800 from under-the-gun and Alan Sass moved all-in for 2,600 one seat over. Tim Adams checked from the big blind bringing a {10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{6-Spades} flop. Adams and Gruissem checked down a {4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} run out and Sass tabled {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and won the main pot with a pair of tens.

Adams tabled jack high and Gruissem had already mucked his hand forgetting about the side pot. "Oh man. I fucked up," said Gruissem. "Of course I had you beat," Gruissem directed towards Adams. Gruissem's tablemates chuckled as Adams and Sass gathered their chips.

Choi Check-Shoves on Greenwood

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

After Stanley Choi checked the turn of a {2-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Spades}{q-Diamonds} board, Sam Greenwood fired a bet of 6,500. Choi took a moment before sliding the rest of his stack in the middle, amounting to a raise worth 16,100.

Greenwood got the count and thought briefly before laying his hand down.

All the Money is up for Grabs on Day 2 of the HK $250,000 6-Max

The 2017 Triton Super High Roller Series Macau continues this afternoon and will crown the first champion in Asia’s largest gaming destination later today. There are still 50 players in the hunt but late-registration and unlimited re-entry remain open until after the first level on Day 2.

The action kicks off at 1 PM local time at the Galaxy Macau Hotel in Taipa, Macau, which is hosting the top players in the world over the next week as the Triton Super High Roller Series sets foot on Macau soil for the first time.

The HK $250,000 6-Max has drawn 70 entries through Day 1 already smashing the previous record of 43 entries set in Manila earlier this year. The next stop was Montenegro a few months ago which attracted 41 entries so the possibility of crushing both of those numbers combined is still in the air.

The defending champion Fedor Holz has yet to make an appearance along with the likes of Erik Seidel, John Juanda, Daniel Cates, Lauren Roberts, Paul Newey and Tom Dwan. Though, some of those faces have been seen in the area.

Bringing the chip lead into Day 2 is American pro Ben Lamb. Lamb mustered an impressive stack of 184,300 to claim the top spot on Day 1. Lamb has a sizeable lead over the field, his closest competitor, Stephen Chidwick, required a second bullet but ran it up to a second place position bagging 129,300.

Michael Addamo sits in third place with a stack of 128,900 while Christoph Vogelsang (124,500), Mikita Badziakouski (116,400), Steffen Sontheimer (114,800), Kahle Burns (113,800), Dietrich Fast (112,800), Mike Watson (110,300), and Timofey Kuznetsov (110,000) round out the top ten.
