Kofler Picks Off Franklin

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Eddie Kofler checked the {J-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop, and Ryan Franklin bet 2,300. Kofler made the call to see the {J-Hearts} pair the board on the turn. Both players checked, and the river completed the board with the {Q-Clubs}. Kofler checked, Franklin bet 8,000, and Kofler called.

Franklin showed the {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}, but it was Kofler's {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs} that proved to be the winning hand. He won the pot and moved to 118,000 in chips while Franklin fell back to 89,000.

Kofler won the PPC Tampa Downs Summer Series $500 Main Event, which not only landed him an entry into this event, but it also scored him $33,952 in prize money. He defeated RJ Sullivan heads up for the title, and Sullivan is still remaining here on Day 1a as well, although seated at the other table. The event that Kofler won had 307 entries.
