Hands #19-23: Andrew Pantlng's Slump Continues

Level 16 : 200,000/400,000, 50,000 ante

Hand #19: A walk for Andrew Pantling, who showed {A-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.

Hand #20: Action folded to Andrew Pantling in the small blind, he raised to 1,200,000 and James Bord smooth called. There was no betting on the {8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop, but Pantling came out firing on the {K-Clubs} turn, betting 1,700,000. "How much do you have?" asked Bord and Pantling cut his chips down to show he had about 8,000,000 behind. Call from Bord. The {9-Diamonds} river was quickly checked through and Bord's {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} proved the winner.

Hand #21 "A limped pot between friends," was how James Bord described this hand. It got unfriendly on the {9-Spades}{4-Spades}{A-Spades} flop when Bord check-folded to a 500,000 bet from Anatoly Gurtovoy. The Russian showed the {4-Diamonds} as he took the pot. "I think I saw a spade there too," joked Brandon Steven.

Hand #22: Another pot for Anatoly Gurtovoy, who raised to 900,000 from the small blind and picked up a call from Elton Tsang. A continuation bet of 800,000 on the {J-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{9-Spades} flop was enough to earn Gurtovoy the pot.

Hand #23: Anatoly Gurtovoy completed the hat-trick, he raised to 1,200,000 from the button and met no resistance.

Hand #15: Brandon Steven raised to 1,125 from middle position and won the blinds and antes.

Hand #16: Action folded around to Elton Tsang in the small blind, and he pushed all in. Cary Katz folded his big blind and Tsang won the pot.

Hands #9-13: Pantling and Steven Chop an All In

Level 16 : 200,000/400,000, 50,000 ante

Hand #9: From the small blind, Elton Tsang raised to 1 million. Cary Katz folded his big blind and the pot went to Tsang.

Hand #10: First to act, Rick Salomon opened for 1.1 million. James Bord made the call in position, all other players opted to fold. The flop came {2-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Salomon check-folded to Bord's 1.5 million bet.

Hand #11: Action folded to Brandon Steven in the small blind and he pushed all in. Rick Salomon folded his big blind and the pot was for Steven.

Hand #12: Andrew Pantling received a walk in the big blind.

Hand #13: From middle position, Elton Tsang raised to 900,000. Brandon Steven, seated in the cutoff, shoved all in for 7.5 million. From the small blind, Pantling asked for a count and upon receiving that shoved over the top all in. Bord folded his big blind after having seen just one card and Tsang folded as well.

Brandon Steven: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Andrew Pantling: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

The flop came {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Katz said: "You're freerolling Brandon"

"So am I" Pantling said with a smile.

The {3-Diamonds} on the turn indeed gave Pantling a flush draw but the {6-Spades} on the river blanked and the two chopped the blinds, antes and Tsang's raise.

Haralabos Voulgaris Eliminated in 8th Place

Level 16 : 200,000/400,000, 50,000 ante
Haralabos Voulgaris and Anatoly Gurtovoy shake hands
Haralabos Voulgaris and Anatoly Gurtovoy shake hands

Hand #8: Being one of the best sports bettors in the world, Haralabos Voulgaris would've known that the odds were stacked against him today. He came in as the short stack and would've been looking for a spot to get a double up and climb out of the basement.

Eight hands in, he found that spot. Action folded to him on the button and he moved all-in for around 11 big blinds. Just picking up the blinds and antes would've added almost 25% to his stack, but it would not be a raise and take as Anatoly Gurtovoy called from the small blind. When Elton Tsang folded from the big blind it was time for the showdown.

Voulgaris: {K-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Gurtovoy: {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}

Voulgaris had a 38.97% chance of surviving but the {9-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs} board didn't help him and he departed in eighth place. That all means that we're now on the bubble here in Monte Carlo. A €1,500,000 bubble.

Hands #4-7: Andrew Pantling Active

Level 16 : 200,000/400,000, 50,000 ante

Hand #4: James Bord raised to 1,000,000 from under the gun and Andrew Pantling called from the big blind.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs} and both players checked. Pantling led out for 2,000,000 on the {8-Hearts} turn and the river was the {7-Hearts}. Both players checked again and Bord turned over {9-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for nines up. Pantling mucks, and Bord takes the pot.

Hand #5: Action folded to Andrew Pantling in the small blind and he pushed all in. James Bord was in the big blind and he asked for an exact count. The dealer broked down Pantling's stack, and his all-in raise was for 7,975,000 total. Bord thought for another minute, but then folded.

Hand #6: Elton Tsang raised to 900,000 from early position and everyone else folds.

Hand #7: Action folded to Andrew Pantling in the cutoff, he opened to 1,000,000 and won the blinds and antes.

Hand #3: Pantling Loses a Four-Bet Pot, Tsang Again the Beneficiary

Level 16 : 200,000/400,000, 50,000 ante
Mustapha Kanit and Elton Tsang
Mustapha Kanit and Elton Tsang

Hand #3: Right after Andrew Pantling lost that sizable hand to Elton Tsang, the two of them tangled again.

First to act, Pantling raised to 800,000. Action folded to Elton Tsang and he three-bet to 2.3 million. Action was back on Pantling soon enough and he four-bet to 8 million. Tsang asked how much Pantling was playing behind (about 17 million) and called.

With already over 16 million in the middle, the flop came {K-Hearts}{7-Spades}{10-Clubs}.

Pantling bet 6.5 million and within two seconds, Tsang had moved all in.

Pantling sighed, tanked for about 30 seconds or so, and mucked.
