Russel McClean was the shortest stack on the table but he got his 530,000 chips in the middle against Trey Bartlett. Despite flopping top pair, Bartlett was forced to pass over a double up when McClean turned a straight.

A couple of hands later, Bartlett ripped all in for 170,000 on the button and Jeff Platt called off the few big blinds from the big blind.

Trey Bartlett: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Jeff Platt: {8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}

The flop fell {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Platt took the lead with a pair of eights. The {10-Diamonds} on the turn and the {2-Spades} on the river were no help to Bartlett who was forced to settle for eighth place.
