Nicholas Smith
Nicholas Smith

2021 MSPT Grand Falls main event champion Nicholas Smith was in middle position and called a 500 raise from a player under the gun. The small blind came along for a three-way pot and the flop was {9-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{k-Hearts}.

All three players checked the flop and the turn was {j-Diamonds}. Action checked to Smith and he led out for 1,300 to get a fold from the other two players.

The small pot caps off an early run by the champ. Smith looks to make it back to back main event titles on the MSPT circuit.

Garcia Moves Up the Leaderboard

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

Recent WBC interim lightweight champion Ryan Garcia was heads-up in a pot of around 5,000 with a flop of {10-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{3-Spades}.

The player in middle position bet 2,700 and Garcia three-bet to 5,400 from the next seat over. Garcia's opponent made the lay down after a short tank and Garcia scooped a pot to cap off a huge run that started before the break with a big pot on a nut flush.
