Varnell Over 300K
Jamal Sawaqdeh opened to 5,500 in middle position and received calls from Craig Varnell in the small blind as well as the big blind, taking postflop action three-ways to the streets.
Sawaqdeh saw action check to him on and bet, receiving a call only from Varnell to take action heads up to the turn . Varnell checked again and Sawaqdeh bet 12,000 more, prompting Varnell to check-raise to 36,000.
Sawaqdeh went into the tank for over a minute: "Show?" he asked.
"I'll show one," said Varnell, lifting his index finger in the air to signify.
"Can I pick?" asked Sawaqdeh. Varnell nodded affirmatively.
Sawaqdeh then set aside calling chips and counted the remainder of his stack, totaling 60,000. He thought for another 20 seconds and sent his cards to the muck.
Varnell then sent his cards across the table to Sawaqdeh, who looked up at Varnell before grabbing them and washing the two cards for a few moments. He then flipped over and grabbed the other card to send to the muck, cooperating with the agreement between the two.
"You got lucky," said Sawaqdeh. "Not with the ace."
