McMaster Makes the Right Fold; Rodriguez Over 200K

Level 10 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Derek McMaster raised to 3,500 under the gun and action folded around to James Rodriguez, who called in the small blind. The big blind also called, bringing a flop of {10-Hearts}{a-Spades}{7-Clubs}. Rodriguez checked and the big blind bet 3,000, leaving himself just 5,000 behind. McMaster raised to 9,000, Rodriguez called, and then the big blind called all in.

Two thousand then went into the side pot and the turn came {7-Diamonds}. Rodriguez checked again and McMaster put out a bet of 20,000, which Rodriguez called. The river fell {6-Diamonds} and Rodriguez led out for 30,000, sending McMaster into consideration for more than half a minute before folding {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} face-up.

James Rodriguez: {9-Spades}{8-Spades}
All-In Player: {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

Both players had rivered a straight, sending the table into remark about the runout. Meanwhile, McMaster saved himself 30,000 with the fold, putting a smile on his face as he told Rodriguez, "That was exactly what I put you on!"

McMaster now has 160K nearing the end of Level 10 and is looking to find a bag after fizzing out a level early in yesterday's Day 1a. Meanwhile, Rodriguez, the overall Day 1 chip leader of last week's MSPT Black Hawk $360 Regional has chipped up over 200K since returning from dinner.
