Ellis Gets Shot Down by Bullets

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Chris Ellis on Day 1
Chris Ellis on Day 1

Clayton Wilson opened in middle position and saw Chris Ellis re-jam for around 140,000 in the hijack. Action folded back to Wilson and he called.

Chris Ellis: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Clayton Wilson: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

"Can I have the (payout) card?" asked Ellis to the nearby floorman. The flop {q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} gave him some hope.

"Well, that's about as good of a flop as I can ask for," Ellis said, but he watched the turn {j-Diamonds} and river {10-Clubs} leave him dry and spell his elimination from the tournament as a result.

Ajayi Eliminates Eyster

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Dapo Ajayi
Dapo Ajayi

Kevin Eyster open-jammed for 66,000 under the gun and received action only from Dapo Ajayi, who was in the cutoff.

Kevin Eyster: {q-Spades}{10-Spades}
Dapo Ajayi: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}

The flop {6-Spades}{3-Clubs}{4-Clubs} changed next to nothing, but the turn {a-Spades} behind gave Ajayi top pair and Eyster a flush draw, trading his six original outs for nine new ones. None came on the river {8-Clubs} for Eyster and he was eliminated by Ajayi as a result.

Collard Hits a Milly

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Peter Nigh open-jammed for 100,000 exactly under the gun and was called by Dwane Collard in the hijack and Michael Wyporowich in the big blind. The two players checked to the river on a runout of {5-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{a-Spades}, where Wyporowich bet 200,000 and saw Collard jam for 345,000. Wyporowich called.

Peter Nigh: {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}
Dwane Collard: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Michael Wyporowich: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Collard's aces up were best and he scored both pots to more than double and take him up to 1 million on the dot, leaving the Day 1b chip leader Wyporowich with 150,000 after all was said and done.
