Mader Bubble's; Steinman First in the Money

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Phil Mader
Phil Mader

There were two eliminations that happened before the hand-for-hand process started.

The first player to fall was Robert Steinman after his pocket aces were set-up by Ravi Raghavan's pocket kings.

While Steinman was standing waiting to see if he was the official bubble, MSPT Hall of Famer Rob Wazwaz exclaimed "Bubble burst! Bubble burst!" at the table just behind Steinman.

Bubble Hand History:

Wazwaz raised from early position and action folded to Phil Mader who defended his big blind to see a {10-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} flop.

Mader quickly jammed for his remaining stack and Wazwaz snap called.

Phil Mader: {k-Spades}{6-}
Rob Wazwaz: {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Mader flopped top pair but was way behind Wazwaz who flopped top-two.

The {9-Spades} turn wasn't the worse card for Mader as it brought possible chop outs if a jack were to fall on the river, but it came the {k-Clubs}, improving Wazwaz to a full house.

With two players eliminated at the same time, Mader became the official bubble holding less chips with 73,000 while Steinman held 99,000 to take 117th place for $2,013.
