Eric Hall Falls to Taylor Howard

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Taylor Howard
Taylor Howard

Action on the table quickly folded around to Taylor Howard who raised to 16,000 before calling Eric Hall's 42,000 three-bet jam from the big blind.

Eric Hall: {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Taylor Howard: {k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

Hall was ahead and connected with the {4-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} flop but it also gave Howard the flush draw. The sweat didn't last long as the {j-Diamonds} completed Howard's flush and the {k-Clubs} river ended Hall's tournament.

John Weber open-jammed for 47,000 from early position and was called by Paul Camby from late position.

John Weber: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Paul Camby: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Weber was dominated and nothing changed after the {10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. Weber needed a jack but the turn came the {k-Diamonds} and left him drawing dead to the {3-Clubs} river.

Jonas Taken Alive

Action folded to Joey Lopez limped-in from middle position and Howard Dion did the same from the small blind. Action was on Jonas Taken Alive who three-bet jammed for 38,000 and only Lopez called.

Joey Lopez: {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Jonas Taken Alive: {k-Spades}{4-Hearts}

Lopez was ahead with his made hand until the {q-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} flop hit the felt. The {3-Spades} turn didn't change a thing nor did the {5-Clubs} river.

Wesley Ismay

Action folded around to Jonas Taken Alive who raised to 13,000 and then called the 133,000 three-bet jam Wesley Ismay made from the big blind.

Wesley Ismay: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Jonas Taken Alive: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

It was a race with Ismay looking to pull ahead and he did after he connected with his ace on the {7-Clubs}{a-Spades}{6-Spades} flop. The board paired with the {6-Diamonds} on the turn and the {2-Hearts} river secured Ismays double-up.

Curtis Vierstraete Finds Some Life After Nasty Cooler

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

After losing majority of his stack in the previous hand holding a pair of kings against Tom Tines's pocket aces, Curtis Vierstraete moved his 11,000 stack in the middle from late position and Mike Carda isolated from the cutoff.

Mike Carda: {a-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Curtis Vierstraete: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Vierstraete woke up with cowboys once again but this time they were ahead and the {j-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{k-Spades}{2-Spades} runout gave him a little breathing room.

Day 2 Schedule

Cards will be in the air at 11 a.m. local time with action picking up from level 16 where blinds are 3,000/6,000 with a 6,000 big blind ante. Blinds will remain 40-minutes in length for the duration of the tournament until heads-up action at which point 30-minute blind levels will come into affect.

There will be 82 players returning for Day 2 action and only 63 spots will be grabbing a piece of the prize pool. Starting the day fairly close to the money might make for some conservative play, but judging by the first two flights the tournament should retain the action-filled play that has been up to this point.

A transition from the big blind ante to a standard ante will come into play when 27 players remain.
