Martz Picks off Verbeck
Joel Verbeck was in the hijack and opened the action with a raise to 500. Phil Kiphardt called in the cutoff, as did the players on the button and in the small blind. Daryl Martz was in the big blind and defended to take action five ways to the streets.
The flop dropped and action checked to Verbeck, who made a continuation-bet of 1,200. Kiphardt called, the players on the button and in the small blind folded, and then Martz threw in a call.
Action was then three handed as the turn came . Martz checked to Verbeck, who fired a second barrel of 2,100. Kiphardt quickly sent his cards to the muck and then Martz called once more, taking action heads up to the river . Martz checked again and Verbeck emptied the clip, putting in a third barrel for 3,600. Martz called.
Verbeck shrugged as he tabled for pure air and Martz tabled to take down the pot with his top pair.
