Welcome to Day 1b of the 2020 MSPT Canterbury Park $1,100 Main Event
Welcome back to Day 1b of the 2020 MSPT Canterbury Park $1,100 Main Event.
Friday’s Day 1a drew 223 entries with 26 players advancing, and another perfect day for poker should see an even larger field show up Saturday for the second of two starting flights to obliterate the $300,000 guaranteed prize pool here at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN.
Cards are set to fly at 3 p.m. local time with players receiving 25,000 starting stacks. Levels will last 40 minutes, beginning at 100/100 with a big-blind ante in play all tournament long. Because Day 1a reached the 12% figure needed for a hard stop before the 15 scheduled levels were played to completion, Day 1b is now scheduled to stop with 28 minutes remaining in Level 15 (3,000/5,000/5,000) unless 12% of the field is reached sooner.
There will be 10-minute breaks at the completion of every three levels with no dinner break. Late registration will remain open through the final break of the night, closing at the start of Level 13 (2,000/3,000/3,000) at approximately 11:40 p.m. local time, and one re-entry is allowed for anybody who is eliminated from the tournament.
All players will be chasing Day 1a chip leader Brandon Waalen (567,000), the only player thus far with over a half-million. How many more will join the 26 to have already advanced and will any of them surpass Waalen? Stay tuned to PokerNews to find out.
