Zeng Backdoors a Flush

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

After one player limped in early position the action got around to Jim Zeng in the cutoff who raised to 700. The player in the big blind, and the limper called.

The flop came {3-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Zeng put out a continuation bet of 1,000 when the action checked to him. Both of his opponents called.

Action was checked around on the {4-Hearts} turn card and the big blind led out for 2,500 on the {a-Hearts} river. The player next to act folded and Zeng raised to 6,000 which got snap called.

Jim Zeng: {j-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

Zeng's opponent showed that he had turned the wheel but that was not good enough to beat Zeng's flush.

Maurice Hawkins was in early position and raised to 500. Five players called so they went six-ways to a flop of {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, Hawkins put out a continuation bet of 1,000 and got called by only the big blind.

The {4-Spades} turn card was checked around and Hawkins bet 3,000 when the action checked to him on the {6-Diamonds} river. After some thought his opponent put in the chips to call and Hawkins showed {a-Spades}{9-Clubs} which was good enough to take down the pot.

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante
Brandon Lin
Brandon Lin

With already 7,000 in the pot, Brandon Lin was facing a bet of 5,000 on a board reading {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. Lin called and they went to a turn card.

Lin's under the gun opponent moved all in for 13,000 on the {3-Hearts} turn card and Lin snap called.

Brandon Lin: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}

Lin had his opponent drawing dead, the meaningless {k-Diamonds} river completed the board and Lin's flopped ace-high flush now has him sitting on a stack of 50,000.

The MSPT continues to grow and establish itself as one of the premier tours in the United States with a strong presence in the middle of the country. They’re also closing in on a milestone of awarding $100,000,000 in prize money (they’ve currently awarded $97,315,597).

“We’re excited to partner with PokerNews for our upcoming 11th season, which is shaping up to be the biggest and best yet,” said MSPT President Bryan Mileski. “We look forward to setting more state records, crossing the $100-million mark in prize money awarded, and continuing to offer players great tournaments across the country.
