Wilson, a Minnesota native, had some good success in the last months of 2014 on the Mid-States Poker Tour. First, he cashed for $2,547 at MSPT Meskwaki in November, and he followed that up with a deep run in the final event of the year, MSPT Canterbury. There, he finished runner-up to fellow Minnesotan Peixin Liu, scoring $61,473 in the process.
