The $3,500 buy-in, $5 million guaranteed World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock Championship will take place starting Thursday, April 16, 2015.
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla., announced that the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown, now in its fifth year, will return April 6-22, 2015. Held in the resort ballrooms, the 17-day series will feature the $3,500 buy-in, $5 million guaranteed WPT Seminole Hard Rock Championship with three starting flights beginning Thursday, April 16 at 12 p.m. local time.
Last year's Championship was the largest WPT playing field in history with 1,795 entries. Players may play any or all starting flights and choose their best stack. Reentry will be allowed for six levels, and the televised final table will be take place on Wednesday, April 22 in Hard Rock Live located in Seminole Paradise, with live coverage available on www.SHRPO.com.
The Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown will open with a $250 buy-in, $100,000 guaranteed no-limit hold'em tournament with six starting flights starting at 11 a.m., 3 p.m., and 7 p.m. on April 6 and April 7. The poker action will continue with a $570 buy-in, $1 million guaranteed deep-stack no-limit hold'em event with six starting flights April 9-12.
The WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship final table will be aired on Fox Sports. Broadcast schedule will be released at a later date. A player in the small blind shoved all in for 11,025 after fourth street made the board . The first player, who was in early position, tanked awhile before folding. Another player folded, and Craig Trost snap-called in the cutoff, tabling for top set.
"Are you serious?" the distraught all-in player said, turning over for top two on the flop that was now drawing stone dead.
Another player said he folded a set of threes when the hand was done.
Brett Reichard bet 1,400 on a board of from middle position. His opponent in the big blind check-raised to 3,500, and Reichard called. The big blind slowed down with a check on the river, and Reichard thought for awhile before checking back. The big blind shook his head and showed for queen-high, easily bested by Reichard's .
Rob Wazwaz was in the big blind and fired 3,500 into three opponents on a flop. A player folded, and the cutoff made the call, leading to another fold from the player on the button. Heads up now, Wazwaz bet 5,500 on the turn. His opponent moved all in for 8,425, and Wazwaz thought awhile before calling despite the fantastic odds. He was shown .

Despite the big loss, Wazwaz remains above the starting stack.
Larry Ormson just doubled up with on a jack-high board. We didn't see his opponent's hand, as it was already in the muck. Ormson is still well below the starting stack.
Dennis Stevermer opened for 450 under the gun, and a player two to his left made it 1,450. The big blind cold-called after action folded to him, and Stevermer called as well. The three saw flop, and action checked to the aggressor, who bet an unknown amount after tossing out a T5,000 chip. The big blind folded, and Stevermer made it 7,000. His opponent shoved, and Stevermer called immediately with for a flush draw. His opponent turned over but was drawing dead after a hit the turn.
