Peebles Three-Bets and Jams

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Ben Wiora raised to 120,000 in the cutoff, Gerald Heckathorn called, and Thomas Peebles made a big three-bet to 400,000. Wiora folded, but Heckathorn called. He checked the {8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop, and Peebles said he was all in. Heckathorn mucked right away.

Craig Trost Eliminated in 6th Place ($21,289)

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Craig Trost opened for 140,000 on the button, and Thomas Peebles shoved for 615,000 in the small blind. Trost called after a couple of minute so of thought.

Trost: {a-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Peebles: {k-Spades}{5-Diamonds}

"I knew you were just doing that," Trost said with conviction, seeing he was ahead. Peebles had jammed over him at least three times already.

Peebles looked done as {6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{j-Clubs} hit the board, but a {5-Spades} saved him on the river.

"How can I run so cold at the final table?" a frustrated Trost said.

He was left with just 130,000 and busted out two hands later.

Trost Pays Off Small Bet

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Craig Trost opened for a raise on the button, and Marv Roelke defended in the big blind. Roelke check-called 200,000 on the {j-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Spades} flop, and both checked the {8-Spades} turn. Roelke bet 100,000 on the {9-Clubs} river.

"Can't fold for that," Trost said, tossing in the call with a sigh.

Roelke showed {a-Spades}{9-Spades} for the flopped nuts, while Trost revealed he'd flopped top pair with {j-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}.

Jason Schimelpfenig Eliminated in 7th Place ($17,031)

Craig Trost raised to 115,000 in middle position, and Jason Schimelpfenig shoved for 440,000 on the button. Trost called after getting the count.

Trost: {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Schimelpfenig: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}

"Nice hand," Trost said with a sigh.

"If it holds up," Schimelpfenig replied.

The dealer spread a {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} flop, and Trost asked for a five. Instead, he got the {4-Clubs}, which meant a five was now a winner for him. That's exactly what hit when the {5-Hearts} peeled off.

Will Stone Eliminated in 9th Place ($8,964)

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Will Stone shoved for 270,000 in the cutoff, and Ben Wiora called from the button.

Stone: {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Wiora: {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

Both improved greatly as {q-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flopped, but Wiora kept the lead with a straight. Stone needed a queen or ten and didn't find one as a {7-Clubs} turn was followed by an {8-Spades} river.

"There goes the rail," someone said as Stone's sizable cheering section left.
